Home Visit

Dear Family and Friends

We will be coming home for a visit to give and receive a lot of hugs and kisses. We will be headed your way mid December.

Our Awesome LORD is showing us His Love for these people in Guatemala and teaching Kaye and I many things about our self so we can be the servants required for the ministry He has placed us in.

These precious children are so receptive to loving attention and hugs, the smiles abound from the children and Kaye and I.

We feed lunch on Wednesday and Friday and on Sunday afternoon they have a children's church which we attend every other Sunday.

We look forward to seeing you soon  and if you know of a good deal on a rental car please let us know.

Kaye and I Thank everyone for your PRAYERS. We are in the Palm of His Hands and He is listening to everyone of them. Gracias a Dios

UNITY of Heart to Serve

How amazing God works when His children come together as one to fulfill His desire to minister to the least of these and the broken hearted.  IMAC ( International Medical Assistance Corporation) and Scared Heart University Physical Therapy Department Team, plus the great facilitating of the Iglesia Del Camino mission team went beyond all our expectations. He ministered to over 700 Guatemalans, bonded different cultures into one mighty force to express the compassionate love of our Lord Jesus Christ. This overflowed into our lives and other team members to enrich our spiritual and professional life's by affirming His love for all of us, those served and those serving Him. Friendships where made that are based upon the unity of  purpose within His Kingdom to serve.
One night the Physical Therapy  students were asked by their professors to share about working with us, they commented mostly how they were treated  as capability PT providers to support their findings for the patients. The medical staff was so impressed by the PT students and realized how much they broaden their service to all patients. Like I said it was amazing and we were all blessed by what God was doing through these health providers and supporters. It was one of those that you say  "you just had to be there" ; so maybe you have been thinking about doing something like this, listen to Him and follow through, you will be amazed.

Kaye and I had a chance to go out Tuesday night on a "Soup Run" really sandwich, chips, fruit and special treat of a sweet. The first stop was at the entrance of the city dump, our hearts were devastated. I have never send anyone living in such conditions, some had plastic sheets to cover but most where wrapped up in what clothes or cover type items they could find. I could not hold back the tears and felt so helpless as to this situation of these people. They were so thankful, they just kept on thanking us for the food and thanking God, a very humbling experience for us. We went to some of the parks and church court yards also to pass out food and share with them about God when possible.

Back to School

We started school Monday to learn Spanish, that afternoon  my brain must of felt like a marshmallow over a camp fire. I collapsed into a siesta for a couple of hours and felt much better when I woke up. The school day is 4 hours long with a 15 minute break, we  are one on one and my maestro name is Teresa and Kaye's is Claudia; please pray for Teresa she needs it more than Claudia .  Two days into what seems like an impossible journey for me; but I know that is when God steps up to the plate and in my weakness He shows His strength, amen from me. Kaye and I have home work every night and work on the weakness of day's pronunciations. Talk about being tongue tied (lol). We both know that it is important that we learn this so that we have the freedom to share that which God has placed in our hearts and life to share with who ever God brings our way.

Please remember Kaye and I in your prayers and feel free to share this with your friends and family.
In your prayers; if God places anything regarding us and His mission please pass it on We miss our family and friends very much and that emptiness is receiving the Balm of Gilead from Gods children and servants here in Antigua, Guatemala.

A NEW BEGINNING

Well we have arrived in Antigua, Guatemala!  We arrived on Friday afternoon and were greeted by our old friend Jonathan.  He was the team leader for our mission trip back in March.  It was great to see his familiar face and flooded our spirits with the reminder of why we were here.  We were taken immediately to meet our host family, Luis and Rosa Sandoval.  What a great family!  They have three children, Luis Fernando 17, Karyn 15 and Leo 14.  Emily is also here sharing their home.  She is like us, here serving on a mission for God.

Emily and Luis F. took us back into Antigua, where we began reacquainting ourselves with the city and finished off our day with a service at church where Luiz F. played in the praise band.  It was a long day, but a good day filled with a warm reception from God's people.  Bill and I were both blessed with a very good night's sleep.

Saturday was market time.  Time to do some shopping for fresh vegetables and fruits at the local market.  Rosa, Bill and I began our journey at the bus stop where we waited on "Chicken Buses" full of people.  You might being sharing your seat with someone you don't know or maybe 2 someone's.   Rosa and I clicked right away and began talking about many things.  It was glorious to see the wide array of fresh fruits and veggies from the locals.   We had a lot of fun as you can see in our pictures on Facebook.  We then took a taxi (TUC TUC) home since we had so much to carry.

Once we got home the real journey began.  A friend of Luis's was there helping him fix the shower. We began to talk and get to know him better.  As our conversation progressed it was very evident that he was soaking up all that Bill had to share about his involvement in CR (Celebrate Recovery).  It wasn't long until he was asking Bill to please pray for him.  The Holy Spirit took over and WOW! The evening ended with us praying for the Sandoval's and for their children.  They are deeply seeking God!  Rosa said she felt God had sent them 2 angels. We were the ones that were blessed!  Yes Lord!  We are right where we are supposed to be in your time!

Sunday was church time and time for us to meet some of our new church family.  As we sat in the service, I thought of all our church family back in Tennessee.  Thank you all for your prayers and sweet encouragements you have sent our way.  We miss you all.

Monday morning we will be meeting with Pastor Mike finding our what happens from here.  Spanish lessons are in the forefront and they will be starting very soon.  Please continue your prayers that we will learn quickly.

It is very bittersweet thinking about our family and those that we care so very much about who are so far away, but it is a sweet peace that fills our spirits as He continues to prepare us for His work.

Blessings to all,

Bill and Kaye
